New fitness equipment worth £50,000 for Stoke Mandeville Stadium

Stoke Mandeville Stadium, which is hosting training camps for the London 2012 Paralympic Games, and WheelPower, the national charity for wheelchair sport, will be investing £50,000 in new equipment for its gym.

The Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury, part of Leisure Connection, will be getting 22 new pieces of plate loaded equipment, along with Livestrong bikes and crank cycles on August 17.

Matrix supplied all of the crank and indoor cycles and Star Trac supplied a range of equipment including five adjustable benches, leg press, an Inspiration utility bench and more.

The Stadium, which is sometimes referred to as the birthplace of the Paralympics, will be used by the Saudi Arabian Paralympic team and the United Arab Emirates Paralympic team to prepare for the Paralympic Games this month.
